Experienced my own Bait and Switch recently. I had responded to a job ad that read "no experience needed, will train". I was called and asked to discuss the job in person.
When I arrived, I learned the employer REALLY wanted experience. What a waste of time!!! I wanted to lash out and ask why did the ad say no experience needed if they really had no intention on training for the position? Why did they waste my time? I could have stayed home, comfy in my pajamas, sipping coffee.
Job searching has become the worse job I have ever held. I hate when I get no response after sending my resume in response to an ad. Yet I hate even more the waste of time job interview. I have interviewed for one company 4 times in the past 1.5 years. Four times. Four different job functions. I qualify for all of them. I have yet to even get a rejection letter from any of the interviews. I have taken jobs that were not really my 'specialty' solely for the fact that it was close to home or it promised to be a 6 month gig. Never reaching the full 6 months, either the project ended sooner than expected (efficiency does not pay) or I was pulled off the one job to fill a job further from home at less pay (this was an action performed by an temporary agency).
Starting my own business! I'll be my own boss. Make my own rules.
